Early career




In 1932 after graduating from Eureka Reagan drove down to Iowa, where he auditioned for a small town radio station. The University of Iowa hired him offering $10 per game to broadcast home football games. Then soon after he was offered a job at a radio station in Davenport earning $100 per month.
Travelling around with the Cubs a Chicago baseball team in 1937 he was signed a 7 year contract with the Warner Bros.
In 1934 he went to Los Angeles where he was an actor in a film called King’s Row this made him “STAR STATUS.” Then later he was a member of the American for Democrats and Action and United World Federalists. When Reagan was older and his acting career declining he became a paid speaker for the General Electric Corporation. In 1964 he made a televised speech supporting Barry Goldwater, who was the republican candidate for President.
1966 Reagan has defeated Pat Brown and became the Republican Governor of California
Reagan began as a liberal Democrat worked under Franklin D. Roosevelt. In the early 50’s he was the presidential candidate of Dwight D. Eisenhower and in 56 for Richard Nixon.
