The War on Drugs policy: when Reagan started his 2nd term in his presidency he declared the “War on Drugs” policy. He said that “drugs were menacing our society” and promised to get rid of drugs in schools and in the public. He also expanded drug treatments and strengthened the law enforcements on drugs. Later Reagan signed a “drug enforcement bill” which cost $1.7 billion.
Also Reagan pushed the NATO partners and increased defense expenditure and military readiness. Even Reagan’s great supporter, Margaret Thatcher, was shocked when he was going to sell grain to Russia.
